Leather Selection Suggestions
In this video we used a 3 oz. italian veg tan horsehide leather from Rocado Leathers. I am not sure if they still offer this type of leather I received it a few years back.

A question from a novice: when preparing for sewing with a saddle stitch, when should I use a punch and when should I use a chisel?
Thanks!
Hi Barry. Are you referring to an awl or a regular round hole punch? Either way they are interchangable. The awl is the most traditional way of leatherworking. So people stick with that for that reason. The diamond chisels are now very popular and I would say a majority of people use them. A round hole punch for holes is also done but seems to be most popular with certain internet templates.
Your patterns helped me a lot. Thanks
